What is the Tauranga climate like?

Tauranga has a subtropical climate, also known as a oceanic or maritime climate. Summer's are warm and dry, with an average maximum temperature of 28ºC.

Winter are relatively mild, with an average maximum temperature of 15ºC. Nights can be cold, with the temperature dipping to as little as 1-2ºC.

On average, Tauranga receives an average of 1180.9mm of rainfall per year. July is the wettest month.  

Where are some of the best places to eat in Tauranga?

There are many new food and dining options popping up in the Tauranga and 'the Mount' region. The area around Devonport Road and the Strand provide many options in the Tauranga area or if you are in the Mount Maunganui region head to Maunganui Road. You will find cafes, restaurants offering a range of local and international cuisines, patisseries, wine bars, breweries or fresh fish to meet your brunch, lunch or dinner needs.
