Australia’s 457 Visa Fee Increase
Announced by the treasurer on the 14th of May; the application fee for a 457 visa will increase from AUD $540 to AUD $900. Wridgways and the Santa Fe group will be lodging as many applications as we can before this date in order to save you paying this higher cost before the 1st of July. Any pending applications should be submitted as soon as possible.
The total program will remain unchanged at 190,000 visa granted in the next financial year. Skilled program which includes ENS (Employer Nomination Scheme) will decrease by 700 places to 128,550 and the Family Program will increase by 700 places to 60,885.
What changes can we expect to see in the near future?
The Fair Work Ombudsman has garnered extra funding if $AUD 3 million to pay for increased activity in monitoring and compliance. We can expect to see an increase in monitoring activities by DIAC. We can also expect to see amendments to the working holiday, visitor and specialist entry programs and continuation of the Departments simplification of their visitor visas. A review of the student visa program is also on the cards.
