Frequently Asked Questions
Do WridgWays use accredited removalists?
Yes. At WridgWays we only employ removalists accredited by the Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA). Not all moving services in Australia use AFRA accredited removalists.
Removalists accredited by AFRA have the necessary equipment, vehicles, premises, and staff training needed for a professional move. All AFRA removalists understand the correct procedures involved with packing furniture and other household possessions for transport.
AFRA removalists are the most qualified people in Australia for handling local removals.
How are you going to protect my large belongings like furniture and mattresses during the move?
Our local removalist specialists will ensure your household goods and furniture will be protected with specialised protective materials. Furniture pads, blankets, and specialised export wrapping is used to protect your belongings during handling and transportation.
VIP plastic covers can be used to protect your fabric furniture from getting soiled. Blankets made from a breathable fabric are used to prevent your leather furniture from sweating. For electronic equipment such as your television or speakers, our local removalist experts use specially-designed boxes for safe transport and storage.
If you are packing your own items, they may not be covered under your insurance policy during transport. Please refer to the exclusions and Limitations in the WridgWays Removal and Storage Insurance brochure for more information.
Upon arrival to your new home, your WridgWays unpacking team will carefully unwrap and place your furniture and belongings where you request them to be placed.
Can I pack the boxes myself and what are the implications of me doing this?
Yes. But there are certain precautions you need to take. Try to avoid packing with used boxes that previously contained food or plant items.
Our local removalist specialists use and recommend boxes that are specifically designed for moving. Small book cartons are used to help protect books from damage such as folds and tears. We can provide a diverse range of specialist packing boxes for all of your belongings.
Do I really need to take out moving insurance?
We recommend moving insurance to all our moving customers. Our local removalist specialists are dedicated to ensuring your goods arrive in the same condition they were in from the start. Unfortunately, accidental loss or damage can occur from time to time.
Please refer to our exclusions and limitations outlined in the WridgWays removal and storage insurance flyer for more details.
Do I have to dismantle all of my furniture before moving?
Our local removalist specialists are always equipped with a tool kit to dismantle large furniture items such as your bed. Our specialists will request that items such as your swing sets, cubby houses, and built-in fixtures are dismantled before moving day.
If you require assistance with outdoor items and built-in fixtures, our removalists can provide a disassembly service for you. Ask one of our WridgWays moving consultants for a quote on this additional service.
Can I leave the house while the removalists are busy packing/unpacking at my home?
On the day you move, your local removalist crew will need a representative to be present at all times.
We also require someone to direct the moving crew when it’s time to unpack. Only you know the perfect places to position furniture in your new home.
What method of transport are you going to use for moving my belongings?
Our local removalist specialists use the safest, fastest, and most economical transport methods for your belongings. They utilise a broad range of transport methods including trucks and trains.
Whether you’re moving locally, interstate or overseas, our experienced operations team will access your move and come up with the best possible solution.
My new house isn't ready to move in yet, can you provide secure storage in the meantime?
Yes. Our local removalist specialists can advise a secure storage option that best suits you.
Our state-of-the-art storage facilities are located in every state and utilise the latest innovations to ensure your belongings will be safe and secure. These facilities can provide you with short and long-term storage options.
Can you arrange transport for my pets?
