Moving to Brisbane? There’s lots to love.
Get outside more often
Brisbane experiences over 250 days of sunshine a year on average, and winter days rarely drop below 20°C making it perfect for outdoor activities practically year round. The Glass House Mountains, Sunshine Coast hinterland and other national parks cradle the CBD outskirts for those who love nature, bush walks and picnics.
City culture vibes
For the foodies, music-goers, market and culture lovers, you can satisfy your tastes at events and venues all right near the CBD. The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) hosts exhibitions worth travelling for year round, and an extensive global and Australian collection is found at Queensland Art Gallery.
Living better for less
Brisbane’s inner-city population density is less than Sydney and Melbourne which keeps accommodation affordable in, and close to, the CBD. With around 145 people per square kilometre, Brisbane’s population density is not considered a densely populated city by world standards.
Paradise around the corner
Weekend coastal escapes are within a two to three-hour drive, where you will find yourself at some of Australia’s most enviable beaches, world heritage rain forests and reefs. Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Stradbroke Island and Gold Coast are conveniently close for day trips and weekends away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do WridgWays use accredited Brisbane removalists?
The only Brisbane removalists we employ are those who are accredited by the Australian Furniture Removers Association (AFRA). In Australia, not all moving companies are required to be accredited by AFRA.
Brisbane removalists that are accredited by AFRA are more skilled and prepared for local removals. They have the necessary equipment, premises, training, and vehicles to give you the best moving experience possible. They understand the necessary procedures involved with packing and transporting furniture and other household possessions.
The most qualified removalists in Australia are those accredited by AFRA.
How will you protect my large belongings during the move?
Our Brisbane removalists understand the importance of protecting your belongings from damage during transit. No matter how far you’re moving they will provide you with the necessary materials to protect your items. At WridgWays, we use materials such as furniture pads, blankets, and specialised export wrapping to keep your belongings safe during handling and transportation.
Your Brisbane removalists will use VIP plastic covers to protect your fabric furniture and stop it from getting soiled. Blankets are made from breathable fabric to prevent any leather furniture from sweating, and specially-designed boxes are used for your television or speakers to ensure they travel safely.
If you prefer to pack your own belongings, then you need to be aware that you may not be covered under your insurance policy during transport. Please refer to the exclusions and limitations in the WridgWays Removal and Storage Insurance brochure for more details.
Can I pack my own boxes, and what are the risks of doing so?
If you choose to pack your own boxes then there are certain precautions you need to take to ensure your belongings are packed as carefully and as safely as possible. Try and avoid using packing boxes that previously contained any food or plant items.
Our Brisbane removalists can also provide you with the premium service of packing and unpacking your belongings for you. Using only the best packing boxes designed specifically for moving, our removalists will ensure your belongings are safe during transit.
Do I need to dismantle my furniture before moving?
While our Brisbane removalists are fully equipped to dismantle large items such as your bed, they do require that items such as swing sets, cubby houses, and built-in fixtures are dismantled before moving day.
If you need help with these large outdoor items, you can ask your Brisbane removalists to assist you with this. Simply speak to one of our WridgWays moving consultants for a quote on this extra service.
Do I need to be present on moving day?
It is necessary that you, or a representative over the age of 18, is present on moving day at all times.
Your Brisbane removalists require someone to direct the moving crew so that your items are packed and unpacked correctly.
Can you organise secure storage until my house is ready to move into?
Our Brisbane removalists can advise you on our range of secure storage options.
We have facilities located in every state and use the latest technology to ensure that your belongings are safe and secure for however long you wish to leave them in storage. We have short-term and long-term options available to suit your needs.
