Bundaberg is a city near the south-east coast of Queensland and located on the Burnett River. It is about 385 kilometres, approximately 4 hour drive, north of Brisbane. Fraser Coast is south of Bundaberg, while Gladstone and the Capricorn Coast is in the north.
Bundaberg is an important area of growing sugar cane and well-known for its Bundaberg Rum. Most of the raw sugar is exported. Sugar related industries like milling and refinement of sugar and its packaging and distribution are located around the city. As the gateway for inland national parks and southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, tourism is also essential to the city.
