Learn about Seaford

Lifestyle

Although Seaford is very similar, and close, to Frankston, residents can expect a much calmer, more relaxed lifestyle here. There are organic food stores and cafes along the coastal strip, and you can easily spend an afternoon fishing at the Seafood Pier, or have a relaxing breakfast at Beach Café Seaford overlooking the bay.

Recreation

Seaford is filled with a vast array of greenery, from the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands to the Kananook Creek Reserve. Running right behind the beach is the Seaford Reserve, a long stretch of grassland that is intertwined with Kananook Creek. In the next suburb over you can visit The Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve, or head to one of the many gold courses in the area.

Housing

You will find many different housing styles in Seaford, from ultra-modern to small and private. Many homes back onto creeks and wetlands, which means you can have your own private reserve in your backyard. There are also several weatherboard homes on large blocks, fibro holiday shacks, and 70s-80s brick homes. Housing prices are also reasonable, as you can expect to pay around $710,000 for a three-bedroom house.

Economy

The economy in Seaford is slowly growing as more people begin to realise the potential of the area. The main industry of employment is the manufacturing industry, closely followed by the construction industry and the retail trade. Around 18.2% of the population are employed as technicians and trades workers, while 16.9% are employed as professionals of some kind.
