Auburn is a suburb in western Sydney, and it is 19 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD. Surrounding areas include Rosehill, Lidcombe, Regents Park, and South Granville. Auburn Maintenance Centre is an important train depot for the maintenance and storage, and the main train station in Auburn is Auburn railway station, which is on both the Western and Inner West & Leppington Lines.


Auburn is one of the most multicultural suburbs in Australia. It includes traditional immigrants such as Anglo-Celtic European people to Turkish, Lebanese, and Vietnamese immigrants. It is about 30% Australian, and others were born in China, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. Therefore, you can imagine how vivid  Auburn’s cultures and cuisines are!

Things to do

Auburn Botanic Gardens is a wonderful place to visit. Waterfalls, lakes, lots of animals like emus and beautiful peacocks are just part of it. If you go there in August, you will see lovely cherry blossoms. Auburn Gallipoli Mosque is an informative and interesting place to understand and learn more about Muslim faith and life. This Ottoman-style Mosque attracts many worshippers. Not to mention Auburn Central, which is a shopping centre satisfying all your shopping needs.


There are plenty good restaurants at affordable price! You can afford to go out for a dinner every day. It has nice Pakistani and Indian restaurants, Turkish food, and Persian and Iranian cuisines. However, if you love Japanese food, you may be upset about the lack of Japanese style in Auburn.
