Regulation Changes for Pets Travelling From Australia To New Zealand

Pets Moving House Travelling International

Keeping your pets safe and comfortable during a move to your new home is of key importance here at Wridgways. A significant inclusion of this process is keeping you up to date with the procedures and requirements involved with the preparation and duration of your pets’ journey.

Proposed regulatory changes put forward by The New Zealand Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) will affect the veterinary animal inspection times available at international airport locations of New Zealand – Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington – as well as animal arrival inspection fee prices. These changes are expected to come into effect on December 1st, 2014.

Inspection times for international airports of New Zealand will be as follows:

These inspection times apply from Monday to Friday, with the exception of public holidays and a specified time period around Christmas and New Year.

The arrival inspection fees of pet consignments are expected to increase by about $150 for the first pet and $75 for each pet thereafter.

We will keep you informed of any changes to these proposed pet transport regulations as the information becomes available. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Wridgways expert moving consultants on 1800 225 916.
