With Rose Taylor
During the month of August we have seen a slight increase in the number of incidents that occurred around the country in previous months.
|No. of Incidents||LTI||MTI|
While we are up on the number of incidents we were glad to see that none of these incidents resulted in time lost. On the one hand, I am glad to see the number of incidents reported is increasing because it means that you are all taking safety seriously and reporting all incidents to your managers. On the other side we need to try and reduce injuries to our people by ensuring we all participate in the safety message and make sure that whatever the job we are doing that we make sure that we assess the risk to make sure we are working safely. Reporting of incidents allows us the opportunity to review our work practices to ensure that we are doing things in the safest way possible to reduce the number of injuries that occur.
Working in and around the warehouse and yard continues to be the major areas of concern when it comes to safety and where most of our incidents occur.
We must remember to be vigilant at all times when we are working and moving around in our warehouse areas as this poses the greatest safety risk with heavy machinery including trucks and forklifts operating in these areas. Remember, if you see something that could potentially be a hazard and cause injury to someone then please let one of your managers or myself know so that this risk can be removed or minimised. If you think you may have a good idea around a safety improvement in your branch, then please give me a call or email me your idea, I would love to hear it.
If you have any questions regarding any safety issue at your branch, please feel free to call or email me at email@example.com
Remember…..always think Safety First.
