At the beginning of August the Rockhampton team held their first Branch Meeting which is one of the new initiatives from the Great Place to Work . The team had a special Subway lunch and sat down together to talk about what has been happening in the branch and across the whole company.

Nicole, as Branch Manager and GPTW Ambassador explained what has been achieved by the Great Place to Work team thus far. They then went on to speak about the exciting new of becoming an agent for Kent and what this means for Rockhampton Branch.

This was also a special occasion as it gave the entire branch the opportunity to celebrate some special milestones in the branch

Nicole asked Clarry Howden (who was Branch Manager for most part of Damien’s time here) to present the first award to Damien Marrinan who has been with the company for an amazing 30 years as a full time employee. In total Damien has been with us for 36 years. That means that Nicole was only 6 years old when he started!! It is a huge achievement from an admired team member. Nicole says that if Wridgways was ever to move the Queen, this is who we would want on the job.

The second award went to Justin Howden for 5 years of service. Justin has worked in Geelong, Mt Isa and now Rockhampton Branch. In a little under 25 years, he too will receive an award like Damien’s.

Finally they discussed their Impress to Win Raffle. This really seems to have drummed up some extra enthusiasm amongst the team who are entered into this special draw within the branch whenever a customer makes reference to their exceptional levels of service. The prize has now been drawn, but we will keep you guessing until next month to see who the lucky winners were.

Congratulations also to Mark Ryan who celebrated his 15 year anniversary at Santa Fe this month, and was presented with his certificate by Michael Lacsni.

Our National Relocation Manager Bridget McCarthy attended the Victorian finalist Telstra Business Awards Dinner during July as a client and guest of Div Pillay from Mindtribes.

Mindtribes will be working with our Fiji team in coming months, and are a company who focuses on improving the performance of cross border business operations, so that companies sell, service, negotiate, manage and lead better in foreign markets across the East and West. MindTribes identifies the cultural gaps, through a cultural diagnostic, addresses these gaps by implementing appropriate job centric KPIs, and targeted cultural training and coaching, followed up by performance reviews across 12 months. While they specialise in delivering cultural training, their differentiator is that this training is job focused and linked to performance outcomes like improving unrealised sales, poor service, low utilisation rates or inefficiencies.
